Question and Test Interoperability (QTI) Format Conversions
QTI format gives test sponsors total control over their own tests. Now, for the first time, it is the sponsor (not the test delivery vendors) who decides how, when, where and by whom their tests are administered. The interoperability aspect of the format also means that sponsors are free to move their tests to different delivery systems whenever they want without the expensive and time-consuming reformatting/republishing that was previously required.
Formatting your tests in QTI also significantly reduces the time and cost of initial test production. Since the test is ready for delivery when it leaves the test sponsor, it can be uploaded and delivered by major computer test delivery companies in a matter of days instead of weeks. The previous "test publishing fees" are significantly reduced.
Through QTI you can control every aspect of your test including the look, feel, timing and flow of every test element including:
* Introduction screens and agreements;
* Tutorial screens;
* Operational exam items;
* Experimental items;
* Item scoring (including scaled scoring and domain scoring);
* Score reports; and
* Surveys.
The Atvantus QTI Edge
The industry has endorsed the QTI format and several major test sponsors are already using the format nationally and internationally. Major test delivery companies have announced that they will be transitioning all of their clients to QTI format in the near future.
The problem is that there has been no fast, convenient way to convert existing tests to QTI format. That is, until now!
Atvantus has built and is currently operating an excellent QTI converter program that allows sponsors to import their existing tests from a variety of formats, set the test parameters that they want and export their tests in executable QTI format.
